Echo Lakes (looking South), 2002
I walked this section as a series of shorter hikes. In July, 2002, I walked alone from Echo Lakes Resort to just above Lake Aloha and back, spending the night at Tamarack Lake. In August, 2003, I walked from Squaw Valley to Barker Pass with Len, Andrew and Mary spending two nights on the trail. In September, 2003, I walked alone from Donner Summit to Squaw Valley as a day hike. This section was very nice in that the PCT is at or near the crest for much of it and there are good views to both the East and West. However, I did not have a camera with me on that day. In August, 2004, I hiked with Len from Barker Pass to Upper Echo Lake, spending two nights on the trail and took the water taxi to the resort. Photos are arranged from South to North and the year in which the photo was taken is noted. Snow presence and lighting vary between trips.
